An Overview of Our Solution
Our solution is an app that evaluates the user with a series of questions regarding their eating habits. it then spots signs of a potential eating disorder and relays that information back to the user. Furthermore the app offers various methods to fix one's disorder.

The app includes a hotline number if medical attention is needed and also contains contacts for therapists and professionals. This app will also locate any and all eating disorder centers near the users location. To help the user, mood therapy is also provided. This method works like a mood meter. The user logs in their emotion and writes down their concerns with their eating behavior to get out what they're feeling without fear of embarrassment. It will save the data the user inputs to show progress over time. If the user seeks a reward for completing mood therapy, they sure will receive one.
After every mood therapy session, cute
pictures of animals will appear on their
screen to offer comfort to the user and
inspirational quotes will be listed
at the bottom to propound courage.

To give the users the best online treatment we can, we've included two contacts from the Renfrew Eating Disorder Center that will gladly answer the users questions, concerns, etc
Our Community of Focus
People with eating disorders always suffer symptoms no matter how severe they are. Unfortunately, they usually don't know if they have an eating disorder because they haven't been tested. The lack of understanding in oneself or another can truly damage a family. When one member in a family has an eating disorder, others in the family might not understand what that person is going through. So they won't know what actions to take to help that person. Our app not only explains the details of each and every eating disorder, but evaluates the user and more or less diagnoses them with an eating disorder. Of course, only a professional can officially diagnose someone, but users can rely on our app to identify problems in their eating behaviors. If someone in a family begins noticing another member showing unhealthy eating behavior, they can use our app to find whether or not they have an eating disorder and what to do to help them.
Existing Solutions
Some existing solutions to our problem include the following:
Eating Disorder Management:
This is an app that gives the user alerts to log in their emotions and eating patterns. The app also includes two 10 minute long questionnaires which are a little overwhelming. However, almost all comments show love for the inspirational quotes and mood tracking additions to the app.
Eating Disorder Test: This is an app that evaluates your likelihood of getting an eating disorder with a 26 question test. It can specify which eating disorder most resonates with you. (Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating, etc.) Many comments showed disappointment that the app was just a test and did not offer other actions.
Our app is a happy medium between the two that covers every users needs, while being creative and visually appealing.

Our Method of Collecting Data and Our Budget
In order to collect data from our solution, our group will have app testers download the app and give us feedback on it. We will also send a survey to those testing the app. The survey will ask the testers to answer questions on the quality of the app. So we will collect tons of quality information from users, testers and experts!
Our potential budget for the solution will be quite low! Anywhere between 0-20 dollars!
